Ism Festival

I was blown away by the utter vibes of ism fest. not to mention the magnitude, The Olympia diy crew is seriously amazing.

Decay is my favorite venue, its got a big community and video focus. the visuals are always rad af. The community around the spot and the different av events they have seems thriving and inspiring more and more people to join in. i know i have!

I got into Olympia on Saturday, unfortunate to miss Fridays events, but i am a chronic painiac.

i made it while my friend Lizzy aka Shield Maiden was setting up.

She played a killer set that dipped in and out of ambient, noise, and pulsating hypnotic loops. The loops were later gone over with vocals and everything was mixed with angular guitar and other source material.

i was dead tired i think we went to Le Voyer next.

loved mobbing w the noise freaks around town.

I don’t understand how Le Voyer exists……It feels like you are on a different planet yet it really has no cohesive design or vibe.

The food is vegan and dangerously good, if a bit goopy.

I bumped into Max Nordile doing door before playing in a sick improv group. I flashed my artist pass and proceeded to enjoy another friend play a sick af harsh noise set.

some shots of whom at Le Voyer

i played le voyer in august on tour with The Zero Collective. Its a really awesome set in my opinion listen below!

I really slowed down and got into the tempos of this set. i truly lost myself and feel super super good about this like it was my best yet.

My friend abel makes killer music and woodworks, i got to see him in a ton of roles throughout the fest. A lot of other pnw artists volunteered their time to make it happen luckily. i wish i had the spoons but just being in the venues is painful. next year ill try to bring a mat thats easy to carry around so i can lay down.

We camped on Abels farm which is gorgeous. I slept in the back of Lizzy’s truck and we had so much fun laughing and snacking talking shit w the small group of noise campers.

I got to meet Axenfield Loop who organized a beautiful film festival on sunday morning.

Getting into it, it had a mutant fest vibe, in that it felt like a convention for audio video freaks. it was mostly noise music.

I was like a kid in a candyshop.

Arsonist above blew my mind!

I was pretty tired by the time i was to play. I was glad to have help loading in and just got lost in the sauce. Midi was funny and i just got into it. Make sure you subscribe and check the podcast for full recordings of most of my live sets!
