Practicing for tonight! Here’s a little practice mix enjoy it while you read the article. I’m going to be throwing down my first hybrid set tonight at the lavender network in Eugene at 9 pm.
What is a hybrid set you might ask?
A hybrid set is when an artist will dj and have live hardware to play with at the same time!
For example, Richie hawtin’s seminal series “decks efx and 909”
He spins with turntables and an effects box (delay, flanger, etc) and a 909 drum machine.
This allows the artist to weave their own live hardware songs or drum beats in this case into the set alongside published music on whatever dj system they want to use! pretty much live remixing and opening an entirely new realm of music.

I recorded some of my practice session for tonight’s rave and i want to share it with you. You wont hear my octa track or my analog rytm on this recording because it is from within virtual dj. but its still a rad mix! Playing a few tracks i bought on bandcamp yesterday for bandcamp friday.
